Preparing your peanut butter is really very simple, and so satisfying. Obviously, it is very easy to find ready-made ones. But this one, you can do it totally to your liking. I like it fluid and slightly salty. If I need to have it sweetened, I just add a little sugar to it.

To do this, simply brown unsalted, unroasted peanuts in the oven. Then, all you have to do is mix until you have a smooth paste. Peanuts are really cheap, which makes this peanut butter very economical.
Then you can use it in all your recipes. A few days ago I posted a peanut butter granola on my Instagram (click). It’s really delicious. Very soon, I will give you the recipe for a chocolate and peanut cake. A delight!

Homemade peanut butter:

300 g peanuts, unsalted and unroasted
flower of salt

Roast the peanuts for about 15 minutes at 150 degrees.
Let them cool.

Put the peanuts in a blender, and whirl until you get a paste.
Add fleur de sel according to your taste. Me, I like it to be present.

Pour into a jar and keep cool.

Variants:
For a sweet peanut butter, add 1 tablespoon icing sugar or honey.
If you want a thinner peanut butter, you can add a drizzle of peanut oil.
If you want it crunchy, reserve some peanuts and add them at the end, cut into small pieces.

To finish: I buy the peanuts at Grand Frais (without partnership). The one kilo bag should cost less than 4 euros, and you can use it in many preparations. On an Asian dish, it’s always nice. You just have to remember to roast them first.

I use my old Thermomix for this. It only takes 1 minute. If you use a less powerful robot, you will need to allow a little more time and possibly take breaks to prevent it from heating up. Afterwards, it remains less difficult than making a praline, because the peanuts are not hard and they are rich in oil. Adding a drizzle of oil also makes things easier.
