Hazelnut brownies

Hazelnut brownies

To feast for sure, nothing like brownies. Young and old, we all agree, it’s a treat. And since it’s also a very simple cake to prepare, we have fun without any hesitation. My recipe is not really new. I’ve had the same for years. But we never tire of it.

I used hazelnuts, but you can do whatever you want with all kinds of nuts.

These brownies are perfect for a mid-afternoon break. They can also be served as a dessert, with custard or, if you are really greedy, with a scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce. It’s too good !

Hazelnut brownies:

200g dark chocolate (70%)
130g soft butter
100g brown sugar
70g flour
3 eggs
1 pinch of fleur de sel
100g hazelnuts

Preheat the oven to 150°C.

Roast the hazelnuts for about ten minutes. Let cool. The skin is removed by rubbing with the fingertips.

Melt the chocolate in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds.
Mix the butter and sugar until you get a creamy mixture.
Add the eggs one by one while mixing.
Add the flour and fleur de sel. Mix without insisting.

Add the lightly crushed hazelnuts.

Pour the batter into a mold or square frame.
Bake for about 30 minutes at 150°C.

Leave to cool before unmolding and cutting.
Reserve at room temperature.
