I like recipes with cheese… What a treat with warm, runny cheese! But, each season has its own way of tasting it. Okay, with this rotten weather, we could completely fall for a raclette.
But, I wanted to offer you another way to enjoy hot cheese.
Grilled cheese is a hot sandwich topped with melting cheese. It’s so simple and good.
For a perfect grilled cheese, we choose a good bread and a good cheese. It’s not more complicated than that. But it is an inexhaustible source of variants. Especially if you add fruits or vegetables or even condiments… There is something for everyone, for everyone.
I really like the combination of camembert and red fruits, especially blueberries. It’s original and really delicious. Everyone around me loves these sandwiches.
Accompanied by a salad, they will be perfect for a hassle-free meal. They can also be offered for brunch.
Grilled cheese with camembert and blueberries:
1 tbsp wine vinegar
60g brown sugar
8 slices of country bread
1 pie chart
In a small saucepan, combine the blueberries, vinegar and sugar.
Leave to cook for 5/10 minutes until you have a nice compote.
Top 1 slice of bread with cheese.
Add one to two spoonfuls of blueberries and close with another slice of bread.
Lightly melt the butter in the microwave and brush the sandwiches with it on both sides.
Heat a pan/grill.
Place the grilled cheese on top and cook for 2:3 minutes per side, until the cheese is melted.
To finish: other red fruits lend themselves well to this grilled cheese. In winter, I use cranberries. In summer, I prefer wild blueberries. And in autumn, blackberries.
