Flamekueche chopsticks

The recipe that I propose to you today is ideal when you have little time to prepare the meal and the fridge is rather empty. All you need is 4 ingredients to prepare delicious baguettes filled in the style of the flammekueche: bread, heavy cream, finely chopped onions and bacon bits.
After a passage in the oven, we enjoy baguettes pleasantly scented and very crispy.

I discovered this absolutely brilliant recipe in Alsace. Since then, I have made it very often and I never get tired of it.
I accompany them with a small salad and each time, I enjoy it.

Flamekueche chopsticks:

2 pieces of baguette
4 tbsp heavy cream
1 large onion
100 g smoked bacon strips
salt pepper

Preheat the oven to 210°C.

Cut the onions very finely. The best is to use the mandolin at the thinnest notch.

Cut the baguette pieces in half and arrange the 4 pieces on a baking sheet.
Garnish them with cream then cover generously with onions and bacon bits.
Season.

Cook for 10/15 minutes. The onions and bacon should take on a nice golden color.

Serve immediately.

To finish: you know how important it is to me to use up all the leftovers. VSThis recipe is also perfect for using up leftover bread. I give you the recipe for a meal for 4 people. In this case I use a fresh baguette. It also happens to me very regularly to prepare these baguettes just for me with a piece of bread left over from breakfast or even from the day before.


Instead of cream, it is also possible to use cottage cheese or to mix cream and cottage cheese.


For a good result, it is very important that the onions are cut as finely as possible.
