Chocolate tiramisu

Chocolate tiramisu

I suggest you start the week with the very gourmet recipe for chocolate tiramisu. We forget the rain and the coming autumn, and we have fun.

The idea for this recipe came to me when I found a packet of chocolate ladyfingers. I did not even know that it existed. And who says boudoir says tiramisu (and also charlotte, but maybe for next time). How about a chocolate tiramisu? The idea seemed almost obvious to me. However, I was surprised that we finally find so few recipes on the internet. Chocolate tiramisu are mostly classic, with chocolate. No, I imagined it as a chocolate mousse. Luckily, the idea seems a bit more classic in the land of tiramisu.

I kept my way of doing it, simply adding melted chocolate. It is therefore a classic recipe with only mascarpone and beaten egg whites. I am delighted with the result. The texture is perfect. This tiramisu is as creamy as can be and holds together perfectly. The taste is exactly what I expected, even better the next day. A repeat without hesitation!

Chocolate tiramisu:

100g dark chocolate
3 eggs (fresh)
100g sugar
400g mascarpone
27 cocoa ladyfingers (or classics)
1 cup of very strong coffee
1 tbsp marsala

Melt the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second increments.

Whisk the egg yolks and sugar for a long time until you have a clear and frothy mixture.
Add the chocolate and mix well.
Add the mascarpone and mix lightly.

Whip the egg whites until stiff then add them delicately to the preparation, using a spatula.

Quickly dip the cookies in the coffee and liqueur mixture.
Place half in the dish.
Cover with half the cream, then another layer of ladyfingers and finally the rest of the cream.

Film and keep cool. It can be prepared the day before for the next day.
Before serving, sprinkle with cocoa.

To finish: you will ask me where we find cocoa ladyfingers. Simply at noz. No partnership behind, it’s just a store I go to regularly.
Otherwise, classic ladyfingers will do.

For an all-chocolate tiramisu, it is possible to dilute a little cocoa in water rather than using coffee.
Alcohol is optional.
