Baked apples with gingerbread

In this month of January, simple and light desserts are by far our favorites. Baked apples are done in no time and always so delicious. They come back very regularly on our table. There is indeed nothing more pleasant than these desserts to eat hot. Rich in flavour, thanks to their gingerbread, honey and raisin filling, these apples make us happy every time. You can find a recipe for baked apples here where I serve them with Carambar syrup. This was our favorite recipe from last winter.

This year, I took advantage of a package of gingerbread that I had received and which would never have been eaten like this, to test the stuffed baked apple. The stuffing brings a maximum of flavors. We have already eaten several times and we enjoy it for sure.

To make my baked apples, I love using the apple peeler. Moreover, these are the only times of the year when this little gadget finds real use. Preparing this dessert only takes a few minutes. The result is always very aesthetic and delicious.

Baked apples with gingerbread:

4 apples (Golden)
6 slices of gingerbread
40g butter
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp of honey

Preheat the oven to 180°C.

Peel, remove the core and cut the apples in a single step, thanks to the apple peeler.
Place them in a baking dish.

Mix the gingerbread with 20 g of butter.
Add the raisins then garnish each apple, avoiding leaving any raisins on the surface as they would darken and take on a bad taste.

Melt the remaining butter.
Add the honey and coat the apples with this mixture.

Cook for about 25 minutes.

Enjoy hot or warm.

To finish: in the absence of an apple peeler, you can also keep your apples whole, with the skin and dig the inside to garnish it. You have a picture here.
But, you understood, it’s not my favorite way to do it.
